For those brave enough to apply…
Thank you for your interest in being one of the twelve Calendar Men for the 2012 60-Mile Men Calendar. The 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Calendars were rousing successes, and have raised tens of thousands of dollars for the Breast Cancer 3-Day. We are looking to continue the tradition for 2013.
It is only with dedicated men like you that 60-Mile Men can help raise awareness for the fight against breast cancers, and all cancers, while supporting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day. As any of the previous men can tell you, being a 60-Mile Man is a special honor, and tremendous fun! Being a 60-Mile Man helps to raise awareness for the 3-Day and the fight against breast cancer and all cancers.
We have only two criteria for our calendar men:
- You MUST have participated as a walker or crew member in at least one prior Breast Cancer 3-Day
- You MUST be participating as a walker or crew in at least one 2012 Breast Cancer 3-Day.
And if you have seen our calendar, we (obviously) don’t care what you look like. :)
If you are interested in being in next year’s calendar, or you know someone that is, please read the detailed information below. NOTE: WE CAN NOT ACCEPT NOMINATIONS. The candidate must fill out their own application. Being a 60-Mile Calendar Man is a very personal endeavour, If you know someone that would be a great 60-Mile Man, please convince them to apply.
We look forward to hearing from you…

HOW WILL BEING A CALENDAR MAN BENEFIT THE CAUSE?
- All net proceeds of 60-Mile Men, Inc. benefits the Susan G. Komen 3-Day For the Cure® events:
- A share of the 60-Mile Men net proceeds will be donated to your 2013 3-Day for the Cure personal fundraising account in the name of 60-Mile Men, Inc. The share of proceeds depends on the number of calendars sold.
- On average, last year’s men received approximately $500. If you are walking, you will still be required to raise the fundraising minimum.
PHOTOGRAPHY REQUIREMENTS
- If you are chosen, your picture will need to be professionally taken. You will be responsible for finding a professional photographer in your area and 60-Mile Men will not assist with photography fees. However, because of the cause you should be able to find a professional photographer who will do the shoot pro-bono. A standard release form will be required from both you and your photographer, and photographers will be credited in each calendar. We can not accept pictures from a point-and-shoot camera.
- If you are chosen for the 2012 60-Mile Man calendar, we will provide you with all the requirements for your picture and for your photographer. These requirements will include, but not be limited to: all pictures must be landscape orientation, all must be shot in the highest resolution possible, all shots must be lit properly, no product placement of any sort, no Breast Cancer 3-Day or other breast cancer symbols or imagery, no sexual scenes or innuendo of any sort, the submission of all pictures taken (we can’t accept just your favorite shots). 60-Mile Men will have final say on the pictures chosen for the calendar.
- You will be asked for the name and website of a your chosen photographer in the application. While not a requirement at this time, providing 60-Mile Men with this information will help the application process.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
- 60-Mile Men will not use your last name, or other personally identifiable information. We do this for two reasons: 1) Not providing last names helps with marketing; making each 60-Mile Man the ‘guy next door,’ and 2) Anonymity for you and the other men.
- However, please note that being a 60-Mile Man is a very public endeavor. You will be in the newspaper and on television coast-to-coast. Please make sure that you have talked over being a 60-Mile Man with your family and friends, and that you are not in a professional position where participating in this would cause you any problems. We have not had any issues in the past, but we want you to make the most informed decision possible. Please contact us with any questions.
Applications for the 2013 Calendar are currently closed. Please check back in August for the 2014 applications.
