GOING THE DISTANCE AGAINST BREAST CANCER

60-Mile Men, Inc., is a Michigan-based 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to raising money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer 3-Day.  The net proceeds of 60-Mile Men, Inc. are donated to the Breast Cancer 3-Day in the name of the 12 men that are posing for this year’s calendar.  60-Mile Men calendars have been sold from coast-to-coast, and at least one 60-Mile Man will be at each 2011 3-Day event.

Calendars: Each year, 60-Mile Men, Inc. produces a calendar featuring 12 men that participate in the Breast Cancer 3-Day.  This isn't a simple calendar with twelve buff firefighters and weightlifters.  We focus on the average guy who has one special feature: A desire to end breast cancer, and all cancers. 

Have you seen the movie “Calendar Girls?”  (If you haven’t, you should.  It is wonderful.)  Well, similar to the movie, we showcase the average, ordinary 3-Day guys…just…well…naked.    Semi-nude, actually.  We, of course, don’t show everything, and the calendar is not risqué by any means.  We just want to remind you that cancer doesn’t discriminate, and we highlight how much these special men care about the cause.

Some of us are in shape.  Some of us …well….aren’t.  (Of course, round IS a shape!)  A few of us have participated in only 2 Breast Cancer 3-Days.  Others have participated in 20 or more!  But we all share one goal:  Every guy wants to create a world without breast cancer.

Apparel: We also sell 60-Mile Men branded apparel items to help you tell the world that you are a 60-Mile Man or Woman, or that you support someone participating in the Breast Cancer 3-Day. We offer wicking gear, and will even put your team logo on 60-Mile Men Gear.

I received this calendar (2011) as a gift from a friend, it is fantastic and as a 3yr breast cancer survivor and single Mom to three teens I wish more wonderful guys like this were available in my neighborhood. The pictures are great and the stories they tell of why they participate are even better. My Mom and three of her sisters died from my hereditary form of the gene mutation BRCA 1 triple negative (most aggressive form of cancer) and I appreciate anything that makes me smile. I will now be smiling all year long. Thanks, Luanne
